Do you still remember the excitement of going back to school after a long break? Buying new books, looking forward to another school year, seeing all your friends again. Does it feel like a lifetime ago? It can be a very exciting time in any child’s life but it can also have its challenges with its worries about exams, change of classmates or perhaps an entirely new school for some.
Today’s generation seems to have much more pressure and worries at school than I ever did and with the school holidays nearing the end it made me think about how parents could use Essential Oils as a tool to help their children face the stresses and anxieties they may be facing.
We have put together a small list of diffuser recipes that can be used to help your children with their emotional well-being. These are not medical treatments but natural aids to help and should not replace any medication prescribed by your GP.
Stress – 2 drops lavender, 2 drops bergamot, 2 drops grapefruit, 2 drops lemon essential oil
Anxiety – 2 drops Sweet Orange, 2 drops of Cedarwood, 1 drop Patchouli, 1 drop Ylang Ylang
Depression – 4 drops lavender, 4 drops Bergamot, 2 drops Blue Tansy, 2 drops Frankincense

In addition to the emotional benefits, most essential oils have natural purifying qualities and therefore it is always beneficial to diffuse them to cleanse and deodorize the home.
